Whats so good about linux? (unbiased question)?

So yea…whats so good about it? Besides it being free, why would someone opt to get a linux distro over a pirate XP copy? What are the main reasons to use it? Pros? Cons?

I use Ubuntu-
for instance
Not only is it free…….
but it usually comes bundled with all the applications you will need.
(With Windows you have to pay for that also)
If you don’t like an application-just dump it (if you want to) and download another. You don’t have to search for all these applications either- they are already listed by category on your Linux. Just point and click.
You get a free upgrade every 6 months. You can take it or leave it.
Every other year-a LTS distribution is released (long term support)
I have not had a security issue yet.
