free opt in email leads

The number one problem for network marketers is finding people that are interested in their product or service. After their warm market (family and friends) dry up they’re left with the general public to market to. A common question that many business owners ask themselves is, how do I find people interested in what I have to offer? If this is you consider building your own opt-in email list of targeted customers.

An opt-in email list is made up of individuals that request information from you about a subject they are interested in. They give you their email address in exchange for a free report, free e-book, or newsletter. It is called opt-in because these individuals give you permission to send promotional material to them at their email address. You can collect email addresses through blogs, banner ads or co-registration sites with another business owner but the majority of Internet marketers create their own lists.

The opt-in email list is also called permission marketing. There are three types that businesses use to collect email addresses.

1. Standard Opt-in: An example of this is when someone gives you their email address through your website to receive some sort of promotional material and they don’t confirm that they are interested in receiving other email messages from you. If you continue to send promotional emails to these visitors your messages could result in complaints or accusations of spam. Converting visitors to customers are sometimes low using this option.

2. Confirmed Opt-in: With this type of subscription, visitors receive an email notification from you confirming that they supplied their email address. They don’t have to respond to you to stay on your email list. There still could be some complaints of spamming with this type of marketing. The conversion rate from visitor to buyer is slightly higher than the standard opt-in method.

3. Double Opt-in: This method requires the recipient to respond to a confirmation email sent to them to confirm that they want to continue receiving email messages or a subscription to your material. If they do not respond to the confirmation email then their name is taken off the subscription list. The people that respond to double opt-in lists are more likely to convert into sales because they are interested in what you are offering.

So how do you build your own list? First start with your own website. Build your own website with your own URL and hosting account. Don’t use your companies website. Build your website around a benefit of one of your products. It’s not as difficult as you may think. SBI (Site Build It) is a great place to start building your own website if you are a novice. You totally build the web pages yourself.

You don’t have to hire a third party to do it for you. After you have your own website create a free report, newsletter or e-book to give away to your visitors. Add a subscriber box on your site for your visitors to opt-in to receive your offer. When they opt-in you have their email address and permission to send them additional information relate to your product or company. Just be considerate. If someone thinks enough of you to give you their precious email address, you should also be considerate and give him or her great content they can use.
