email opt in law
Jun/090

From 1 July there is a new option in the legislation for B2B communication.
Gone are the days when companies could wind directions generic e-mail (eg info @) to promote products or services.
From now on B2B electronic communications have same restrictions that B2C communication.
In short
– Explicit consent is required before sending a commercial email a company
– Even for existing files will require the consent (opt-manage their databases of age)
– The identity of your company should be very clear on every call
– An unsubscribe link must always be free and respected
The exception
You does not need permission if it is sent to customers, but:
– Communication should be related to the purchased product or service
– Designer Costume must be able to reject this kind of communication when it becomes a new customer
– An unsubscribe link must always be free and respected
No email only!
This new legislation not only the marketing of the email, but all communication electronic.
Then also SMS / MMS and fax marketing are linked to the same rules.
The paradox
While electronic communication is very well regulated, as needed, communication is not printing. So, basically, no problem you want to send people post personal mail sent by regular mail!
Is it me or is there something wrong with this world? Each day of the opening of my (postal) mailbox that I have to throw tons of paper and nobody cares.
